I wanted an unusual shape for this piece of Rhodochrosite and was inspired by an afternoon bowling with my grandkids. So if this gorgeous freeform cabochon reminds you of a candlepin bowling pin, there's a good reason! Wavy pinks surrounded by well-polished matrix; I filled two open vugs with epoxy and you can see them as the dark spots at the middle left edge.

61mm x 14.5mm x 6.5mm.   Weight: 64.40 carats.

Every one of my cabochons is custom cut to take the best advantage of the particular slab from which it is fashioned. Colors may vary somewhat from what is pictured due to differences in computer monitors.
