Dichroic Glass

This small Dichroic Glass cabochon is a departure from rock for me, but it was more of an experiment than a change in direction. The glass has an aqua tint which can be seen as the cabochon is turned. The back is characteristically dichro and not ground flat. The gray area at lower left is a hole in the glass which starts at the edge; the hole has some chromium dioxide (polish) in it which I will attempt to remove (no promises here).

26mm x 16mm x 7mm.   Weight: 21.30 carats.

Every one of my cabochons is custom cut to take the best advantage of the particular slab from which it is fashioned. Colors may vary somewhat from what is pictured due to differences in computer monitors.
