This cute freeform "windy teardrop"-cut Mookaite cabochon was a class room demo that went bad. Not bad in the way the cab turned out, though. The back of this slab did not have the little yellow "flame" and my goal was to show my students how a pleasing pattern in the rock could go away while it was being cut... but it didn't! The straight line at the lower right of the yellow area is a reflection. Dimensions: 37mm x 25mm x 5mm. Weight: 35.45 carats. |
