It's been a while since I've found red Leopardskin Jasper to cut. Here is a fine example of this hard-to-find material. The cabochon is freeform cut into a long egg shape. The cab's most unusual features are a half dozen or more small inclusions that flash when light moves across them. When first seen, they suggest small druzy pits; but the surface is smooth all over, and each little inclusion seems to consist of a tiny flat mirrored plane that can only be seen for an instant. This was impossible to photograph unfortunately. Dimensions: 48.5mm x 28.5mm x 7mm. Weight: 58.50 carats.
