This poor little Lace Agate cabochon has had a heck of a life! Originally a much larger cabochon, I was unhappy with the way part of it just wouldn't polish well. After two sessions of wasting time, I cut the cab pretty much in half, so what you see here is the best of the piece. It has very nice patterns and good red color! There is a fracture along the right edge (you can just see it at far right) that I've tried to break but couldn't; if the cab is set or wrapped, the fracture will probably not show at all. Dimensions: 35mm x 23mm x 5mm. Weight: 30.50 carats. |
