This is Chrysocolla & Cuprite from Mexico, collected by Benny Fenn. The Cuprite is slightly harder than the surrounding Chrysocolla and takes a higher polish. The Cuprite in this freeform cabochon is very dark red, almost black. Very striking, very impressive!

Dimensions: 34mm x 19mm x 6mm.  Weight: 38.50 carats.
