This rock was gathered just a few miles from home. It's known locally, along with other rock found in the spillings of coal mines, as "Brookwood Stone." This one is dark and mysterious! Overall gray color, a bit lighter than it appears in the photo. The light areas are just sub-surface and almost appear green depending on the light. Dimensions: Rounded girdle; 33mm x 20mm x 7mm. Weight: 37.15 carats.
