I think this material is Rhyolite, even though it's harder than some of the Rhyolite I've worked before. It also took a much better polish! The dot towards lower center is in fact a yellow dot in the rock. Full disclosure requires me to tell you that this cabochon broke (during my customary pre-sale tweaking) along the big fracture line seen, and was repaired. While the repair is invisible, you need to know it's there. If you buy this cab and it breaks in the same place, I'll buy it back.
