This is Chrysocolla & Cuprite from Mexico, collected by Benny Fenn. The Cuprite is slightly harder than the surrounding Chrysocolla and takes a higher polish. The Cuprite in this freeform cabochon is sparse, and very dark red, almost black. The fracture at the bottom is stable.

42mm x 15mm x 6.5mm.   Weight: 30.60 carats.

Every one of my cabochons is custom cut to take the best advantage of the particular slab from which it is fashioned. Colors may vary somewhat from what is pictured due to differences in computer monitors.
