Chrysocolla

From Arizona, this pretty designer cabochon of Chrysocolla is a crowd pleaser! I'm going to try and re-shoot this, as the color is overall closer to aqua than blue, but sometimes it's difficult to get colors exact. Interesting composition! Not a smooth finish, as the materials have different hardnesses; the polish has the appearance of hammered paint, very unusual. The dark lines are not fractures; they are veins which are very slightly harder than the surrounding material (and raised a tiny bit as a result). Gloria at Wire Treasures wire wrapped this cab into a pendant; you can see it here!

38mm x 22mm x 7.5mm.   Weight: 44.10 carats.

Every one of my cabochons is custom cut to take the best advantage of the particular slab from which it is fashioned. Colors may vary somewhat from what is pictured due to differences in computer monitors.
