This rock was gathered just a few miles from home. It's known locally, along with other river rock, as "Brookwood Stone." This one is spectacular! It looks like the red crystalline structure is encased in a layer of clear Quartz. The fractures at upper right were not entirely sealed, so I stabilized the cabochon; it appears stable now.

28mm x 26mm x 7mm.   Weight: 45.05 carats.

Every one of my cabochons is custom cut to take the best advantage of the particular slab from which it is fashioned. Colors may vary somewhat from what is pictured due to differences in computer monitors.
