This rock was gathered just a few miles from home. It's known locally, along with other rock found in the spillings of coal mines, as "Brookwood Stone." To us eight-crayon guys, it looks pink, but my wife says it's a peach/coral color. Whatever, it's a gorgeous specimen of this lowly Alabama rock. 47mm x 27mm x 8mm. Weight: 76.00 carats. Every one of my cabochons is custom cut to take the best advantage of the particular slab from which it is fashioned.
