Opalized Petrified Wood

This giant cabochon is absolutely spectacular! It looks like shards of gray glass in a clear matrix. It's hard to tell from the photo, but every line that looks wider than an "eentz" is a clear space between the "shards." Plus, (you're going to love this) these clear spaces fluoresce a bright green under short-wave UV! The rest of the cab floresces a pale yellow under long-wave UV. See the second photo. I'm not certain of the identification, but it appears like an opalized piece of Petrified Wood. If I'm wrong please let me know.

59mm x 26mm x 7mm.   Weight: 76.80 carats.

Every one of my cabochons is custom cut to take the best advantage of the particular slab from which it is fashioned. Colors may vary somewhat from what is pictured due to differences in computer monitors.
